Heavy selvedge organic denim (12.5 oz) with plant-based indigo – a sanforised DRY DENIM

This heavy selvedge denim in a rich indigo blue is something special: it is the only denim in my entire range that is dyed with plant-based indigo. At 12.5 oz (approx. 425 g/m²) it is also robust and perfect for long-lasting jeans, jackets and bags.

Plant-based indigo – a true rarity

• This denim is dyed with plant-based indigo – a traditional, considerably more labour-intensive process than the usual synthetic dyeing.
• The result is a strikingly blue shade that is not as dark as some other indigo raw denim fabrics, making it a genuine find for lovers of traditional craftsmanship.

Selvedge edge

• The characteristic selvedge edge – a red stripe on a white ground at both fabric edges – is produced by weaving on a narrow width power loom, the traditional technique for selvedge denim, and prevents fraying.
• The selvedge edge is often shown off, for example by cuffing the hems of trousers.

Raw denim with sanforisation

• The fabric is not pre-washed (Raw Denim), but sanforised. It shrinks only minimally on the first wash and you can cut it without pre-washing.
• Each garment made from Raw Denim develops an individual wear pattern over time and becomes softer and lighter with every wash.

The fabric is made from 100 % organic cotton and was produced according to GOTS criteria. However, it does not carry a final certificate, as my shop, being the last business in the supply chain, is not GOTS-certified.
