Vlieseline T 12 Bias Tape with chain stitch: The specialist for curves and bias edges

Give your sewing projects the perfect shape and stability with the high-quality T 12 bias tape from Vlieseline. This white, iron-on bias tape has been specially developed for processing curves and bias edges, where normal edge tapes reach their limits.

The diagonally cut tape with chain stitch secures bias or round cut edges. The chain stitch prevents the edges from stretching and is therefore versatile in the processing of clothing, accessories and home textiles.

The iron-on tape is 1.2 cm wide and available by the metre. The chain stitch is 8 or 4 mm away from the edges.

Processing

1. Cut the bias tape to the desired length.
2. Place the tape with the coated side down on the left side of the fabric along the edge you want to reinforce.
3. Iron on the tape with moderate heat and some pressure until it is fully fixed (approx. 8 seconds in each place, iron temperature setting: wool). Make sure that you do not move the iron, but place it in a different position to avoid the tape from slipping.
4. After ironing on, leave the workpiece to cool flat for about 20 minutes before further processing.
5. Sew the tape close to the chain stitch.

Tip: For curves, make small pleats in the tape, but do not cut it.
